Impressions

This principal role marked my successful transition from theater to film acting, providing invaluable lessons in carrying significant screen time and driving narrative momentum. Working with director Aidan Defrese on this supernatural thriller, my character Emily became central to the protagonist's journey through moral challenges, requiring sustained emotional commitment and consistent character development throughout the feature-length production.

Key Technical Challenges Mastered: Emotional Consistency Across Takes: The most demanding scene required my character Emily to cry hysterically while the camera followed another actor through the house. Film's non-linear shooting schedule meant finding that same emotional state seven different times as the crew reset for each take. This experience taught me techniques for accessing and maintaining emotional states that I still use today.

Physical Continuity: Unlike theater where you perform the scene once per night, film demands exact replication of every gesture, facial expression, and eye line across multiple angles and takes. This attention to micro-details became fundamental to my film acting approach.

Collaborative Learning Environment: Everyone involved was learning the filmmaking process together, creating a supportive atmosphere perfect for a first-time film actor. This experience taught me the value of preparation, patience, and teamwork on set.

This role solidified my preference for film acting and provided the foundation for future screen work. The techniques I developed for maintaining emotional and physical consistency would prove essential in later projects like The Guardian and Supreme Justice with Judge Karen.
